One Pan
Swedish-Inspired Meatballs
The formula
Beef or pork meatballs + creamy Dijon sauce + warm spices
What you’ll need
- Ground beef or pork
- Onion, diced
- Garlic, minced
- Egg (1-2)
- Parmesan or asiago cheese, grated
- Beef broth
- Dijon mustard
- Sour cream
- Spices & seasonings: Italian seasoning, nutmeg, salt, and pepper
How to make it
- Combine the ground beef or pork with the garlic, egg, cheese, Italian seasoning, nutmeg, salt, and pepper.
- Shape the mixture into meatballs and place on a baking sheet.
- Bake the meatballs until cooked through. About 20-25 mins @ 400°F.
- In a large skillet, sauté the onion until softened.
- Add the beef broth and Dijon mustard.
- Stir in the sour cream until the sauce is as creamy as you want it.
- Add the meatballs to the pan and simmer until everything comes together. Sprinkle more cheese on top.
Make it your own
- Use beef, pork, or a combination of the two.
- I use 2 tbsp of the mustard. I recommend starting there and adjusting to taste.
- Add mushrooms or peas to the sauce, or serve the meatballs with your favorite vegetable.
